DATES: Wednesday, June 19 – Wednesday, June 26, 2024

LOCATION: The University of Hawai’i at Manoa campus is located in Honolulu, Hawai’i, on the island of O’ahu. The Airport is 15 minutes away, and Waikiki is 10 minutes.

ACCOMMODATIONS: University of Hawai’i Hale Aloha Dormitory, Frear Hall. Meals are provided by the University of Hawai’i Food Services. Participants will be in a unit of four with others from the same high school and/or from the same region.

TO REGISTER FOR CHUSA: Go to cheerhawaiiusa.com/register; you will be prompted to submit your deposit through our website. We will email your Welcome Packet to you as soon as we process your registration.

TEAMS: All cheerleaders will be divided into CheerHawai‘i USA teams. Teams are created by mixing up the participants as much as possible so you can learn from others from around the country. You will not be on a team with your high school teammates. A hand-selected high school coach will be your coach and mentor throughout the week.

TRANSPORTATION: All transportation for participants to and from the airport, as well as transportation to all activities will be provided. Chartered, air-conditioned buses and vans will make all rides comfortable.

MERCHANDISE AND APPAREL: Tuition includes two camp uniforms, the camp dance mixes, and the camp group picture and team picture. Additional camp apparel will be available to purchase at the camp store.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS COMING TO HAWAII: There is a Family and Friends section in the Registration WELCOME PACKET that will be emailed to you once you Register to attend.

STAFF: High school coaches are hand-selected from across the country to be coach/chaperones. Each coach/chaperone will be assigned to 12-15 cheerleaders; Alan and LeeAnn Akina, Directors of Operations; Pam Akina, Administrative Director; Head Instructors: Curt White (Penn State coach), Liisa Ackley (former University of South Florida cheer coach), and Kellie O’Donnell (former University of Hawai’i cheer coach); 5 Assistant Instructors; a full-time camp health aide; an Athletic Trainer during workouts; Camp Security, in addition to the University of Hawai’i Security; plus additional support staff on site.
