This year’s camp will be held on June 25 – July 2, 2014, on the beautiful island of Oahu, at the University of Hawaii Campus. The CheerHawaii Invitational provides an amazing blend of College prep cheer instruction with an incredible Hawaiian Experience. This “Invitational” cheer camp is the only one of its kind in Hawaii that specializes in all aspects of cheerleading. Unlike other programs, our Company and Directors are based in Hawaii and we understand and know of the best things to do while in the islands.
Aloha! Welcome to the 13th Annual CheerHawaii USA Summer Invitational.
Date & Location
Focus & Activities
CheerHawaii focuses on 4 main areas: Cheer motion and spirit, Dance, Stunting and Leadership skills. We have a unique way of combining workout sessions with the experience of some of Hawaii’s best beaches and activities.
At this invitational you will find yourself doing things like learning a new dance in the morning and later that day paddling a canoe on a beautiful beach. Or you may find yourself hitting a new college style stunt and later watching the Fire Dancers as you eat a Paradise Pineapple Dessert at the world-renowned Polynesian Cultural Center.
Here is a partial list of some of the activities you will enjoy as a member of the 2014 CheerHawaii team: Beach time on North Shore and Waikiki Beaches, Pearl Harbor Memorial, shopping at Famous Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, canoe paddling, hula dancing, Waikiki Trolley Ride, and Polynesian Cultural Center Hawaiian Luau and Show.
The CheerHawaii USA Invitational Summer Invitational is a once in a lifetime opportunity for those cheerleaders that are selected. That is why our nomination and selection process is very detailed. At the beginning of each school year we work with thousands of high school varsity cheer coaches from all 50 states. We ask each coach to nominate your most deserving cheerleader(s) to be considered for selection to the camp.
Our selection committee seeks student/cheerleaders with the following qualities:
- Good basic cheer skills
- Leadership abilities
- Desire to learn and improve
- Excellence in academics
- Positive attitude
Nominations for the camp are open to current sophomores and juniors. Current seniors will be considered on a limited basis and coach’s recommendation.
Cheerleaders: If you would like to be considered for this summer’s camp, please call or email us with your coach’s contact information so we can send out the necessary information.
CheerHawaii also selects a handful of current high school varsity cheer coaches from various parts of the country to serve as coaches/chaperones for a squad of 8-10 cheerleaders. We also have a full staff ranging from greeters at the airport, drivers, activities coordinators, sound/music crew, registration personnel and a travel coordinator. We also have a Registered Nurse (RN) on staff that’s available 24 hours a day. At all of our workout sessions, we have on staff a Certified Athletic Trainer from the University’s Athletic Department to attend to any possible injuries. Along with the University of Hawaii campus security, we hire our own private security that watches over the dorms every night from 10 pm till 6 am. He also accompanies us on all of our major activities.
You will leave CheerHawaii with a new Ohana (family), as you will make friends for life with the cheerleaders, coaches and support staff. We are known to run our camp with a family atmosphere. We are not one of those “big” cheer companies that conduct hundreds of camps across the country; we only host CheerHawaii once a year. Our coaching staff is chosen very carefully and our support staff is made up of family members and very close and trusted friends. From our registration coordinator and camp nurse to the private security guard, we are all one big Ohana. And our goal is to help you feel right at home in Hawaii!
We welcome your parents, extended family and friends to come to Hawaii and attend any of our workout sessions and meet us at any of our planned activities. Click here to read about what other cheerleaders are saying about their CheerHawaii Experience.
